چکیده

Mobile ad-hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the aid of any stand-alone infrastructure or centralized administration. Mobile ad-hoc network have the attributes such as wireless connection, continuously changing topology, distributed operation and ease of deployment. In this paper we have compared the performance of two reactive MANET routing protocol AODV and DSR by using NS-2. Both share similar On Demand behavior, but the protocol’s internal mechanism leads to significant performance difference. We have analyzed the performance of protocols by varying type of traffic (UDP and TCP). A detailed simulation has been carried out in NS-2. The metrics used for performance analysis are Packet Delivery Ratio, Throughput, Average

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

Secure Routing Protocol: Affection on MANETs Performance

In mobile ad hoc networks, the absence ofinfrastructure and the consequent absence of authorizationfacilities impede the usual practice of establishing a practicalcriterion to distinguishing nodes as trusted and distrusted.Since all nodes in the MANETs would be used as router inmulti-hop applications, secure routing protocols have vital rulein the security of the network. So evaluating the perf...

Performance Evaluation and Analysis of Reactive Routing Protocols in MANET

MANET is the collection of mobile devices which formed a self configuring infrastructure less temporary network. In this paper we are doing performance evaluation and analysis of three reactive routing protocols (DSR, AODV and TORA) in MANET for different performance metrics Such as Average Throughput, Packet Delivery ratio, Packet Drop Ratio, Average End-to-End Delay, Routing Overhead and Aver...

Simulation based Performance Evaluation and Comparison of Proactive and Reactive Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically forming a temporary network without the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized administration. The mobility of nodes in MANETs results in frequent changes of network topology making routing in MANETs a challenging task. Routing protocols in MANET helps node to send and receive packets. Some studies ...

Comparative Analysis of Reactive, Proactive and Hybrid Routing Protocols in MANET

The performance of routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc network (MANET) always attracts many attentions. As many previous works have shown, routing performance is greatly dependent to the availability and stability of wireless links. Although there are some studies reported to evaluate the performance of routing protocols in MANET, little work is done for the system overall performance, which is ...
